As there are many issues that could be covered with regards to the
Soundblaster 16 and sound in general I will point you in the direction
of two documents that helped me get my sound sorted out. Between them
these docs should answer all your questions. BTW my problem turned out
to be Plug n Play turned ON in my BIOS. Ensure your have PnP turned OFF
in your BIOS. Anyway two docs are :-
