In the page pointed to by the latter link, I found the following under the
"NIS+ Server" heading:

"...  I doubt that there will be a free rpc.nisd in the near future, if
nobody really starts to implement one."

Not encouraging at this point...  it appears that NIS+ client support
exists in glibc 2.0.92 (test release).  Maybe I'll have to make my Solaris
box the server for the time being until there's an rpc.nisd for Linux.
