Hi!

If I try to rlogin/rsh/telnet from a Solaris2.6 system into a RH5.0
(with latest patches) I get an protocol error:

    ws@micky[2]: rlogin haendel
    Protocol error, haendel closed connection

Why this?

If I snoop this connection I see an error message while authentication
(haendel is the RH5.0 system and micky the SOLARIS2.6 system).
       ....
    haendel -> typhon NIS C MATCH ip in protocols.byname
      typhon -> haendel NIS R MATCH OK
     haendel -> micky        AUTH C port=1051
       micky -> haendel      AUTH R port=1051
     haendel -> micky        AUTH C port=1051
     haendel -> micky        AUTH C port=1051 1023,513\r\n
       micky -> haendel      AUTH R port=1051
       micky -> haendel      AUTH R port=1051 1023 , 513 : ERROR :
       micky -> haendel      AUTH R port=1051               ^^^
     haendel -> micky        AUTH C port=1051               |||
     haendel -> micky        AUTH C port=1051
       micky -> haendel      AUTH R port=1051
     haendel -> micky        RLOGIN R port=1023
       ....

Do I have to install a new r* command set for Solaris2.6 to loggin corretly?

Thanks for any help

Andreas
