Hi, A mystifying problem occurred to our 2.0.34 machine this evening-- telnet, rlogin, rsh stopped working right. If I telnetted in, I was greeted with the ususl version name and a login prompt, but once I typed in the useriD and password, I immediately got logged out with "connection closed by foreign host." Rlogin and rsh were similarly unusable. Additionally, at the console, I could log in as root but could not su to any other ID--after entering "su kevin" nothing would happen-- I would still be operating as root. A reboot restored normal operations, but I really have no idea what happened and have to suspect that this could happen again with no warning. There were no messages in the /var/log/messages file that indicated anything abnormal. Any tips, advice would be helpful. Thanks!
