I never tried that... I was just asking 'cause I read on their site 
that their distribution is already available, completely optimized 
with pgcc and there to be downloaded....

This is true! but also not everyone has a SPARC but this is not a 
reason for not having a SPARC or an Alpha distribution...

As I said, I never tried it, but from what they say the performance 
are better also on those CPU (see stampede.org for more details)
