A mouse would be useful even if you never ran an X session. gpm gives you text
copy and paste functions in the command line environment. I ran Linux with no
GUI for a couple of years before I started using X... I didn't need it.

As far as configuring in terminal mode it's not that difficult. It's largely
a matter of editing some simple text files and -HUP'ing some processes. If
you're new to Unix/Linux I recommend a couple of books to you to start out..

Linux Network Administrators Guide by Olaf Kirch, published by O'Reilly &
Associates, Inc.

Running Linux by Matt Welsh and Lar Kaufman, published by O'Reilly &
Associates, Inc.

You can order these on-line from http://www.moongroup.com/linux_stuff.html

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Didn't I buy a 1951 Packard from you last March in Cairo?
