AAHHH!! I really broke it this time.

OK, this morning I got all of the kernel rpm's out of the 5.1 updates directory
on Redhat. I then did rpm -Uvh kernel*.rpm, and everything appeared to update
without a hitch. Unfortunately, upon rebooting my system, I have an ENDLESS
scroll of error messages...never even get to a login that you can see for all
the scroll. I was able to ALT-F2 and login there, but cannot DO anything. No
PPP support, cannot even load my CD-ROM to try and go back to the old kernel
that came with the distribution. I am currently having to shell in from
someone elses windows machine just to send this. Can anyone tell me if there
is a way out of this mess without a re-install. I guess it was a foolish
newbie assumption for me to think that considering WHERE the file came from,
that is was a drop-in replacement for my stock, original, distribution kernel.

Thanks in advance!!
Jeff
