The version of ghostscript that ships with redhat doesn't support the
bjc 6XX series. (it says it does, but thats a lie :) ).
You need to upgrade it. I am running 5.10-1, and my Canon
BJC600 (Basicaly the same printer as yours) is printing just fine. High
resolutions and color. All kinds of files.
I think the rpm is available of a rehat ftp mirror in contrib or
something.
