Hello,

After having fried my HD (see "Problem with Rescue Disk" subject earlier
today), I decided to reinstall RHL 5.1.
Everything went fine, until I chose to create a boot disk. At this time, I
didn't hear any sound in the floppy drive. It stayed like that for 20 mins,
until I chose to kill the process (by going on the virtual console 2, and
killing the process). I installed lilo ok, and rebooted the machine. I now
get this problem:

Partition check:
hda: irq timeout status 0x58
hda: disabled DMA

and hereonafter, the hard drive light stays on forever, even within
inactivity periods. When I try to mount a floppy drive, it doesn't. The
floppy drive light stays on, and the process never finishes. I am forced to
remove the floppy disk from the drive to kill the process (and generate all
sorts of errors in the process).
Does anyone know what the errors above mean? How to fix it?
I know my BIOS is setup correctly, since the HD was functioning fine before.
I have it on LBA on and PIO auto. It's a seagate UltraDMA 6.5Gb.

Please help

Karl
