Speaking about NFS mounting between Linux and Solaris...
I've been trying to get my Linux box (RedHat 5.1) and SparcStation
(Solaris 2.6) to play nicely via NFS. I have two minor (not
show-stopping) but annoying problems:
1. Whenever mounting a Linux NFS export from the Sun, Solaris complains
about file locking not being available. I believe the reverse is true
when I mount the Sparc from the Linux box, but I think the complaint
goes into a log file somewhere.
2. (Unrelated) Whenver I run Netscape and export the display to the
Linux machine, and I have to do this, the right shift key produces an
astric (sp?) -- i.e., shift-8. The left shift key works fine. I'm
running KDE under Linux and CDE under Solaris, if that makes any sense.
Anyone have any tips to share?
Thanks,
-Fred
