] if you have trouble finding a program to run, try typing
] find / -iname <programname>     This will search from the root of
] the filesystem for files of name <programname>

If you leave your system up 24/7 or leave it up over the occasional night 
or just run the /etc/cron.daily/updatedb.cron script by hand, as root, then 
you can use the "locate" command.  As in

$ locate xsysinfo
/etc/X11/wmconfig/xsysinfo
/usr/doc/xsysinfo-1.6
/usr/doc/xsysinfo-1.6/README
/usr/X11R6/bin/xsysinfo
