Here's one for anyone who's been following GIMP or GNOME development: I've noticed a lot of people have had the problem that if they install gtk+ (and uninstall gtk, which conflicts) then many gtk apps, including the RedHat control-panel, no longer function. The latest development builds of GNOME include a gtk+-1.1 that uses a different naming sceme which doesn't conflict with the old versions. With this package installed I'm able to simultaneously have gtk installed. There are some minor graphic artifacts, but everything seems to work again. <lade@lovecraft> [~]> rpm -q gtk+ gtk+-1.1.0-1998052809 <lade@lovecraft> [~]> rpm -q gtk gtk-0.99.970925-3 I scooped up the latest bleeding-edge gtk+ rpm from ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/devel/latest I'm running RH 5.0. Maybe this has already been resolved in 5.1, but I thought some people would find it useful. -- ---------------------------------------------------------- Larry Lade - http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/6686 PGP Public Key: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/6686/pubkey.txt Fight junk e-mail!
