Okay I got it working,

I created a working isapnp.conf using pnpdump and cross referenced with
what 95 thought the settings were(it had been a while since I'd booted
that!). Once that was done I could run sndconfig with the --noprobe
option(which was where it hung previously) and selected values that were
as close as I could get to the values I had for my card in 95(in fact
the only difference was the 16bit DMA) and let it work it's magic on
/etc/conf.modules. I then simply edited /etc/conf.modules to reflect
the proper settings for my card and gave her the old reboot. Worked
fine!

Thanks for the help again! I learn something new every day.
