Subject: [lug] Looking for a little help

I've been running linux for about two years now using apache as the web
server software. All of a sudden I run into an interesting problem which
I can not solve. Seems the web server runs fine for about 15 minutes
sometimes less then the processes of the cpu are taken up, with only two
people accessing one of the web sites, the zombies increase and the
process don't kill themselves when their complete. Hence a locked web
server that has to rebooted every 20 minutes to clear out the httpd process.
(This is using top to look at the
processes). I've reloaded the software package, tried different systems
boards, I'm almost at the point of thinking its the hard drive. But I
really have no clue. Does anyone know of how to fix this problem.

Jason
