**UPDATE**UPDATE**UPDATE**UPDATE**UPDATE**UPDATE**UPDATE**UPDATE**UPDATE
Hotwire is compiled for RH 4.2 and looks for libs in the wrong place when
installed on RH 5.0. I've been in contact with Gary and he's been so kind
to send me the libs linked to the right folder. Actually, RH 5.0 has the
right libs - in /lib - but is missing the links. I have them here at home,
already sent them to some friends so if there're others needing
them...just scream loud enough into your modem (otherwise I won't hear you
here in France!:-) and I'll post it as an attachement in the list. It's
around 258Kb.
Hang on, that's not all! The present version of HotWire works only with
*Class 2 modems*, not with Class1 or 2.0. Gary told me the next version
will support Class 2.0 modems. Since I'm completelly ignorant about the
Classes business...can somebody post some feedback on what's what? What's
the difference, are older modems automatically Class 2 modems, etc,
etc, etc...!??
Hope this helps,
Zoki.
