The only you need is to launch this Linux box somehow: from under DOS via
loadlin.exe, by means of bootable floppies etc. Then just run /sbin/lilo
to recover it. If you can't do so, get standard floppies (e.g. from the
Slackware distributive: color.gz for boot and rescue.gz for root one) and
boot from them. Mount your HDD Linux root partition somewhere, I'll use
/hdd from now on. Do 'cp /hdd/etc/lilo.conf /etc' and 'cp
/hdd/boot/vmlinuz /boot'. Edit /etc/lilo.conf if you want to move LILO
somewhere according to advices cited above and run /sbin/lilo.

In any case I'd advise you to have a rescue floppy with LILO to boot your
Linux box. You can use any damaged one for this purpose.

I don't think that you should use Red Hat disk and to lose all updates
you've made till now.

Hope this helps,
Alexei
