Hello,

I'm using RH 4.1- kernel 2.0.27. I'm trying to compile the IP-Masq
requirements into the kernel.

I've compiled the kernel plenty before, but not on this system. I can't
get X running on this system, and will not waste more time trying. Upon
installation I installed almost everything. I'm limited to 200 Mb.

So, I unpack the 2.0.27.tar.gz source in /usr/src/ which creates the
linux dir. Upon trying make config in /usr/src/linux/ I get an error
complaining that there is no scripts dir in /usr/src/linux/include/

Indeed there is no such directory in /usr/src/linux/include/

The make doesn't even start. make clean provides quite a bit of output,
which makes me think I'm missing a package or something.

Can someone point me to instructions which specifically relate to
recompiling RH not using RPM?

Otherwise, general advice appreciated, Cheers - Eric
