Hi George,

Some answers:

I attach the fragment from my copy of /etc/X11/XF86Config. I
edited this by hand after doing the best I could using
XConfigurator. Note - it is important to make a copy of this
before editing - just in case!!!

# The accelerated servers (S3, Mach32, Mach8, 8514, P9000, AGX,
W32, Mach64
# I128, and S3V)
Section "Screen"
    Driver "accel"
    Device "ViRGE"
    Monitor "My Monitor"
    Subsection "Display"
        Depth 16
        Modes "800x600"
        ViewPort 0 0
        Virtual 1000 1000
    EndSubsection
EndSection

I set Virtual to the max I could - this gives me a desktop
slightly larger than my desktop - handy sometimes.

You can also play around with Depth (set to 8 16 or 24) and Modes
(try 1024 x1204)

Incidentally, I use joe to edit most files, it's a tad easier than
vi for me because I used to use WordStar. Joe comes as standard on
RH 5.0

Go into x-windows and run control-panel and select the Network
Configurator applet. You will find your IP address under
Interfaces and maybe Hosts. Just change it to the new value.

Let me know how you get on!

Kind regards
