First thing to check on when using ICQ is to make sure you have enough
swap space because the thing is a memory hog! I found that in order to run ICQ
and Netscape at the same time I need at least 50-60megs of swap space available
to get ICQ to run reliably without crashing. Another possible problem could be
your version of the JDK. When I was running Debian, I used JDK 1.1.4 and ICQ's
message boxes had bugs, certain keys didn't work, all ' were converted to ",
etc. I'm using JDK 1.1.3 on Red Hat now and have no problems with ICQ. I haven't
tried ver 1.1.5 yet, so I don't know if that's the problem.
Hope this helps
