I've tried linuxconf.  Not a bad program, and it helped me figure out 
how to configure something (I punched in the values on linuxconf and 
then went to the file it modified to see how it did it - I know it's 
cheating, but it was quick <grin>)

You also might try WEBMIN.  It's strictly a web driven configuration 
tool.  It's a solid performer AND it does some configuration for 
SAMBA.  Point your browser to: http://www.webmin.com/
