It is trying to bind to a port (has nothing to do with the name server).  
Probably a TCP or UDP port.  Something else is already using the port that 
applix wants, so it isn't working.  I have no idea what port applix wants, 
so I can't really say what to do to fix it.  Try running netstat and 
seeing what ports are being used, and then try closing the programs that 
are using ports above 1024 (decimal) if you don't need them.
