I have a Roadini frame that I am hoping to build up as an uncomplicated
bike such as a 1x8 or a single speed.

The way I see it my single speed options are to use a White Industries ENO
hub or a chain tensioner. I've noted a lot of attention in the BLUG on
single speeds, 2 x 1 speeds and a 1 x 3 speed.

I'm looking for experiences and advice regarding the WI ENO hub vs a chain
tensioner (either a purpose built one or a repurposed rear derailleur).

I like the simplicity of the ENO hub but also like the idea of using a
standard hub should I later decide to convert to multigear. Does a chain
tensioner distract from the single speed experience? I get that the ENO hub
would offer a fixed gear option but are the two options otherwise similar.

Thanks,

Mike
