I don’t think we can eliminate CGImap yet. It still made a big difference as of
a couple years ago: OpenHistoricalMap/issues#588. That said, it’s great that we
have the ability to pick and choose between the two backends on a case by case
basis. We should run the numbers regardless so we know how much of an
improvement CGImap makes, in case there’s some call where the tradeoff looks
different than it does here.
