See readDOC in package tm. E.g., something like
Corpus(DirSource("aDirectoryContainingTheWordFiles"), readerControl =
list(reader = readDOC))
Note that you need antiword (http://www.winfield.demon.nl/) in your
path such that readDOC can use it.
