I can replicate this error by 'qs' not having names. what does 

names(qs)

show? Is this what you expect?

That pertains to a previous step perhaps and indicates something else is
not what you think it is in, so you should check out what that is wrong.
Efefctively, you have some data that are stored as factors yet you are
treating them as numeric. Use 

str(DAT)

where DAT are your data objects. Do this for each data object in turn to
see if all the variables are numeric.

Note that this one is just a warning, but something you should look at.
