Try sink():
matrixA <- matrix(0,5,4)
matrixB <- matrix(1,7,13)
matrixList <- list(matrixA,matrixB)
names(matrixList) <- c("matrixA", "matrixB")
sink("yourname.txt")
matrixList
sink()
