Can you tell us the version of the Rstem package you installed.
Rstem_0.3-1 from
http://www.omegahat.org/Rstem/
or
install.packages("Rstem", repos = "http://www.omegahat.org/R";)
work fine for me.
I seem to recall this being a problem with an older version of Rstem.
