But did you try the help for write.table() ???

    write.table(x, file = "", append = FALSE, quote = TRUE, sep = " ",
                 eol = "\n", na = "NA", dec = ".", row.names = TRUE,
                 col.names = TRUE, qmethod = c("escape", "double"))

Set quote=FALSE.
