I am trying out S7. Just curious: Does anyone know why the developers chose to use "method(generic, signature) <- value"
to implement S7 methods rather than "new_method(generic, signature, value)" , -- or even "new_method(generic, signature, FUN)" -- which would be consistent with new_class, new_generic, etc. ? Yes, I know it's easy enough to make such a change, especially just for my own use, but maybe there are good reasons not to. Thanks.
