In RStudio there is the "View" tab at the top, and within that there is "Zoom in" and "Zoom out". I like RStudio enough that I have not explored other options, and I do not have abundant time to make the exploration. RStudio does what I need, so I move on.

John: You mention notepad, so I assume you're working on Windows. But there are several possible editors you could be using there. Are you running Rgui.exe and using the built in editor? Or RStudio? Or something else? I'm not on Windows, so I can't recommend the best editor to use, but there are multiple choices possible.
