I created a MARS model from earth package.for one predictor EngDispl vs FE.
These are the resulting coefficients:

h(EngDispl-2.3) 5.942387
h(EngDispl-3.5) -2.552332
I am at a loss at writing the equation linking the dependent and
independent variables for such an output.
What is h? Is it a function / operator?
