Hey all, I wanted to draw your attention to a new grants program we launched today at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, aiming to fund *open source scientific software* with significant adoption within the life sciences and biomedical research communities.
We'd love to see applications from developers and maintainers in the R community. More details on the motivation and scope of the grant can be found in this Medium post <https://medium.com/@cziscience/essential-open-source-software-for-science-72faec2c38c1> and applications can be submitted by one of three upcoming deadlines (the first round of applications closes on *August 1, 2019*). Should you have questions on whether your package/project is in scope / or you're eligible for funding, or anything else about the program in general, you can write to: sciencegra...@chanzuckerberg.com Best, Dario ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: CZI Science Grants <sciencegra...@chanzuckerberg.com> Subject: RFA Now Open: Essential Open Source Software for Science RFA Now Open: Essential Open Source Software for Science [image: CZI Logo] Request for Applications Request for Applications: Essential Open Source Software for Science Applications due: August 1, 2019 [image: Apply Now Button] <http://go.chanzuckerberg.com/e/617541/n-source-software-for-science-/7d71q/217518795?h=ZbdQI0KmhvfdfnxBkDVobIdVgkVIWA5NlgkPTM7pjVA> [image: RFA Open Source Software banner] The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative invites applications for software projects that are essential to biomedical research, have demonstrated impact, and can show potential for continued improvement. Applicants can request funding between $50k and $250k for a one-year period, with the ability to apply for renewal.
