Hello,

You don't need to install lme4, it comes with base R.
As for package lmerTest, I've just did

> install.packages("lmerTest")

So there was no problem. And my output of install.packages() is quite different from yours.

If you're having a problem with lme4, maybe as an extreme mesure you could reinstall R.
And by the way, what is your OS? What is the output of
