What do you mean by "gives me something"?

xx <- read.csv("http://massey.ac.nz/~pscoperwait/ts/cbe.dat";)
Error in file(file, "rt") : cannot open the connection
In addition: Warning message:

cannot open URL 'http://massey.ac.nz/~pscoperwait/ts/cbe.dat': HTTP status was '404 Not Found'
