Nope. Wrong address for an automated efforts at changing subscription 
preferences, and it would not have worked anyway because you did not provide 
your password. Most people who started using the Internet in the last 20 years 
will need to use the web interface at the address in the message footer. If you 
still want to use the classic manner of communicating with a mail server you 
need to use this address:

r-help-requ...@r-project.org

If the subject line is “help” (without quotes) you should get a message 
entitled "The results of your email commands”  which you need to follow 
precisely. (But most people will still fail with this approach.)
