2. You will probably have to more clearly define what you mean by "panel format." I certainly have no clue. 3. Have you read relevant portions on manipulating data frames, etc. of an Introduction to R (http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-intro.pdf ) or other online tutorial?
