Dear Prof Ripley, Thanks for your reply. I tried with R -versions (R-3.0.1 & R-2.15.2) but was having problem with installing the dependencies such as SWinRegistry,SWinTypeLibs. With R version 2.9.1, I was able to install all the dependencies but am having problem with installing RDCOMEvents.
As suggested by you I will contact the package maintainer.
