Shane, you replied to just to me rather than the list. I'm not familiar with geosoft, but the name suggests this might be a better question for r-sig-geo than here.
Is the file binary or text? The internet suggests that it's a text format. Have you tried using www.rseek.org to search for import options? You could probably rig something up with scan().
