I'm running R 2.11.1 on 64 bit Debian. I've had no problem installing any
other CRAN packages, but installing package "gbm" fails due to:
*** installing help indices
** building package indices ...
** testing if installed package can be loaded
Error : .onAttach failed in attachNamespace() for 'gbm', details:
call: NULL
error: 'packageVersion' is not an exported object from 'namespace:utils'
ERROR: loading failed
In the utils namespace I have
> utils::package [tab-tab]
utils::package.contents utils::package.skeleton
utils::packageDescription utils::packageStatus
but no utils::packageVersion. I can install gbm on my MacBook in OS X no
problem. Any idea what could be the issue.
