I am using the GNU compiler version 4.5.1 from blastwave on a Solaris 10
box.
I can't seem to find how to compile bigmembory successfully.  I can complile
and add
other packages.

and find it also fails the Solaris based CRAN checks.

Hence please report to the package maintainer directly, since reports from CRAN maintainers and the CRAN results are obviously ignored.
