OK, my fault. I did not realize that you only refer to r-devel. I found however

I think that will work. I'd recommend putting the alt text in place to be displayed in text and LaTeX versions of the page. (R-devel will include the figure in LaTeX, alt text in text.

Now I just need to find a way to get Inlinedocs to pass this code from the 
sourcecode of the function directly into the Rd files but I am sure some 
googeling will help me :-).
