When I import a data file in stata format using read.dta, the full variable labels (e.g. variable= "inc2000"; variable label= "Total household income in year 2000"). When I then export the same data file using write.dta, the variable labels are not included in the new .dta file. Is there any way to ensure that the variable labels are maintained?
