Actually I fixed my end of the problem soon after it was reported. (It was because I hadn't updated some soft links after upgrading to Fedora 8, which installed a new version of Namazu.) I could not replicate the "download" problem. The foobar thing is at the namazu site, not mine.
I did not reply to the list because I didn't want to fill up the archive with yet another copy of the message, but I guess I must. Eventually, the archive will get too large for this little computer, but maybe by then I'll get a new one. (I'm now making a complete backup of everything.) There was a mailto link in MY page. Future problem reports should use that, not the R-help list. The search page gets over 3000 unique IPs per week, some weeks close to 4000. It has been gradually increasing. There are now many other resources on the web. Maybe one of these days a mirror site would be in order, but, then again, maybe usage will start to decline because of the richer set of alternatives. (The ones I know about are linked from http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu, and of course the R page itself lists them too.)
