Amna,

You have posted this question to the list several times now over the past
few weeks.

Several of us have recommended hclust() as a starting point.

However, your question about the optimal number of clusters to choose is not
an R question.  I recommend that you tackle the literature on this topic. If
you don't have access to texts and journals then try a statistics listserv.
But, even a Google search on cluster analysis will provide you plenty of
direction.
