I don't send messages to Google - I send them to people who read the mailing list. Since that is a public activity I don't care if Google sees it. The list is public, so Google will be all over it in any case. Does this mean that I favour Google in any way? Not at all.
I never use the google web client, and it aggravates me when people link to messages there, instead of in the mail archive.
