I have an Echo, pretty cool, but not great yet. In order to work well,
you need extra stuff. Receivers for each device like light switches, or
special bulbs. A Harmony Hub to set your tv up.
I can:
turn lights on/off
turn ceiling fan on/off
turn tv on/off, volume, channel
Drop-in on the 3 other Echos in the house. Use as hands free intercom.
I do have 1 problem. I can call any of the Echos, but if I try calling
one upstairs, it calls the last one that called me, not the one I
called. Yet when they are down stairs they work fine.
I know houses are weird in sections, but that should be it, since you
are supposed to be able to call “drop-in” on anyone in your contacts
