are now available for download, testing and feedback. We encourage you to
download them, try them out, and tell us what you think.
Qt 4.7 and Qt Creator 2.0 are scheduled for release in mid-2010, with interim
beta releases planned.
WHAT´s NEW in Qt and Qt CREATOR?

The releases bring improvements to the Qt framework, the Qt Creator IDE and in
the way we develop Qt:
Qt Quick
--------
The key feature of the Qt 4.7 and Qt Creator 2.0 releases is Qt Quick (Qt User
Interface Creation Kit): a high-level UI technology that allows developers and
UI designers to cooperate on creating animated, touch-enabled UIs and
lightweight apps. It includes:
- New UI design tools in Qt Creator
- QML (Qt Meta-Object Language): Declarative language
- QtDeclarative: A new module in the Qt library
Improving Qt performance and quality
------------------------------------
With these releases, we´re making changes to our development infrastructure and
ways of working to ensure that each Qt release is faster and of better quality
than the last:
- New Qt Integration system controls the process of merging changes into Qt,
preventing new errors and resulting in increased quality and stability
- New performance team in Qt development known as "The Speed Trolls" and a set
of benchmarks to stop changes that cause performance regressions in Qt
Additional new features
-----------------------
- Qt Creator 2.0 brings improved support for Symbian development, and
introduces experimental support for development targeting the Maemo platform
- Bearer Management and Multimedia APIs: The first two of a total of 11 new
cross-platform APIs from the Qt Mobility Project
- Bearer Management API: Management of network connections
- Multimedia API: Playback of audio and video of various formats
