Tracks cut, IRQ set to 5, I/O base to 0x300: It works !!! :-)

For info, my Ethernet card is a Fiber Line FL-1840 (made in China) and the
RTL8019AS (buggy) chip got 08019S1 / 045F as its serial number.

Many thanks !!  Expect the Q60/Q40 Linux website back 'soon' with plenty of
RPMs compiled for the Linux shoestring distribution.

PS: I happen to remember someone mentionning the port of lwIP or uIP for
    SMSQ/E. Does it work ?  If yes, where to get it ?
