The same effect (plus also disabling the KVM IOAPIC) can be obtained with "-M kernel_irqchip=split".
It still can be requested explicitly using +``-global kvm-pit.lost_tick_policy=discard``.
The right one is "delay" (it's wrong in the wiki), while discard corresponded to -no-kvm-pitreinjection
