Do you think you could apply something like this:
def foo():print "fetching foo..."
actions = (foo,)*5
for f in actions:
f()
fetching foo...
fetching foo...
fetching foo...
fetching foo...
fetching foo...
..but not knowing your specific implementation, I may be off the wall
here.
